WHO WE ARE

New Jersey Blind Citizens is celebrating 113 years of service!

NJBCA is celebrating 113 years of service to the blind, visually impaired and those with deteriorating vision.   It is our passion  to be able to continue on our journey of unlocking opportunities, opening doors and fostering an atmosphere of  confidence, empowerment and community.

For 113 years, NJBCA has sustained solely on the generosity of others.  We do not receive funding from any federal, state, county or municipal entity and this why we appeal for donations.

Please consider joining us in our 113 anniversary campaign to raise $110,000.00 to persevere in the continuation of our mission.

VISION IMPAIRMENT SUPPORT AND EMPOWERMENT

Did you know that more than a quarter million people in NJ are blind or have a serious visual impairment? Vision loss can have a devastating impact on an individual as well as family and friends.  Ordinary tasks become full of fear and worry.  Difficulty cooking, writing a check, reviewing the mail, and losing the ability to drive safely can all erode self confidence.  Constantly having to rely on family and friends,  who often do not  understand vision loss and how to help or not help, can take a dramatic toll on a persons morale.  This is why the sharing activities in a group are often beneficial to people with low or deteriorating vision and is also beneficial to the families as well.

If you or someone you know could benefit from attending such a group, please give us a call!  We invite you to become part of a community and family that understands.  Please reach out and call to discuss the possibilities and resources available!  732-291-0878
