Eatontown Lions Club

The NJ Blind Citizens Association has continuously run a free summer vacation program for
Blind/Visually-impaired New Jersey Adults beginning in 1930.

Ironically, the ten bedroom home on Sandy Hook Bay that hosts this program has never been
handicapped accessible.

The Eatontown Lions rectified this situation by installing a handicapped accessible ramp. This caring project has enabled summer visitors, day program participants, and one of our own board members to access this building.

The NJBCA acknowledged this important project with a dedication ceremony

Eatontown Lions 5K

In May of 2005, the Eatontown Lions sponsored a 5K at Sandy Hook to benefit Camp Happiness. Not only was the event a success, but it was the impetus for our organization to develop a fitness program for the blind (see program description). This year (2007) marks the third annual 5K at Sandy Hook.

Please register and support this wonderful event. All proceeds go to support programs for the blind and visually impaired. Go to home page for registration.

Thank you Eatontown Lions for all your support!
